Titanium substrate has excellent corrosion resistance, but due to its high hydrogen evolution potential and its extremely easy hydrogen absorption, a small amount of hydrogen absorption can lead to titanium deactivation, seriously affecting the performance, causing serious degradation of its mechanical properties, greatly shortening its fatigue life, and ultimately leading to brittle fracture. Therefore, when using titanium as both cathode and anode materials, coatings should be applied. Titanium electrode coatings include platinum coatings, metal oxide coatings, and so on. High efficiency insoluble platinized titanium anodes have excellent electrical conductivity, chemical and electrochemical stability, mechanical strength, and catalytic performance. They are not only superior to graphite anodes and stainless steel anodes but also better in economy and practicality than precious metal anodes such as gold and platinum.
