Lead dioxide coated titanium anodes are of high strength and light weight; they have been used in the electrolysis of wastewater to make the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) meet emission standards. It replaces the expensive platinum anode when producing ozone through the electrolysis method. Lead dioxide anode has been used for organic electrochemical synthesis.
